I ordered some stuff from Dakota Digital for the Plymouth awhile back Rog... While chatting with one of the techs about their products in general a remote start option was mentioned...wasn't real interested in it then, but it might be worth a call to them to see if they have it developed and for sale yet.... Always been very pleased with their products and their tech support is superb!

Evolvo - Thanks, I sent the Ariel Atom team a note asking if they were willing to share their source for their ignition module.

Dave - Thanks, too. I will give Dakota Digital a call tomorrow and see if their remote start does what I am looking for. To clarify, as Evolvo says it is like the new Nissan's where you get in the vehicle, hit a single "Start" button on the dash and the start system handles the run/start and even the accessory mode, but none of it works unless the secure key fob is within range, i.e., in your pocket.

I have seen AutoLoc has a one button start advertised, but their on-line info does not provide any details - just a single line "..illuminated single start pushbutton" and a price. I may call them, too.

I have an RFID keyless ignition kit sold by Flaming River that I am going to install in a week or two.

When you sit in the driver's seat with the key fob in your pocket, all you have to do is push the start button.

Last year I did a different push button starter that didn't use an RFID key fob. It was a Watson's "Hot Dot".

For security, I also wired it with a remote control battery shut down solenoid.

Like one of these (click) except I triggered it with a Dakota Digital remote control system (which was wired to be hot even when the battery disconnect was open).

Thanks much for the response and information. The new Flaming River system is really neat and gave me initial sticker shock. I kind of like the magnetic latch disconnect and the Watson PB, but I need to study the details a bit. I appreciate the links.

After browsing through the Watson's website, I see that they too offer an RF enabled keyless ignition system to work in conjunction with their Hot Dot ignition switch system. All tolled it's $380, which is about half of what Flaming River gets for their system, plus Watson's has a better looking switch.

That is super cool!! I was just getting into the Watson's site but had not found their RF system yet. I will likely order one before I get started on wiring. Once again, thanks for the guidance!

Some bad news on Watson's SureLock. Their distributor elected to stop supply of the entire product line, and they no longer have a RF system. Their one button start is still an option, but security is limited to some type of switch to interrupt the ground circuit, or one of their remote actuated (hard wired) power disconnect switches. Looks like the only aftermarket RF system is Flaming River's, unless someone else knows of another.
