For yrs I thought the same thing about center lines.Recently some 4X4 Astro guys proved to me that isn't the case.That as long as you have the same angle from the tranny tailshaft and the rearend pinon,they can be offset because of the u-joints.I swore they where wrong and I was given a ride in one that was set just like that and it was as smooth as silk,no vibs,no problems.That set-up was like at for yrs too.Well I decided I was way too old to go back for a refresher in geometry. I just accepted it as a set up that works.
