Tri Power Question
So for the 287 that is going back in the pontiac I am going to be removing the road draft tube and setting up for pcv. The rochesters I got for the tri power have a large vaccum port at the base that I assume was for brakes or pcv. I know they are supposed to be plugged for the tri power set up but could I not plug one, like say the primary carb. And connect the pcv to that. Or should I just machine a port onto the intake? By the way this is a cast iron intake off of a 57 poncho.

It will work just fine using one of those carb ports. I'd use the rear one as it would have the easiest access.

I have done this on the majority of the Tri power set ups I have built. My personal preference is to use the center carb to help insure a balananced mixture to all the cylinders rather than the possibility of leaning out the rear ones. Don't know if reallly makes any difference but it works for me.
I run a 90 degree fitting out of the carb base, It's usually close but fits.
