GM power locks, power windows

I'm putting together a 68 suburban and I'm going to put power windows and use electric door lock solenoids as door poppers.
I've already discovered that the lock solenoids don't depend on ground, but use the two wires as positive and negative. Switching polarity determines inward or outward pull.
My question is:
Is this the same way the power window motors operate? I don't want to burn something up by experimenting!
The power windows and door locks are factory GM stuff from an 87 van. If my hunch is right, I'm not sure what the wiring scheme for the stock switches is. There are five wires to the switch..... two from the motor and probably a power wire and a ground wire and a fifth mystery wire

The power windows uses two wires, the switch reverses polarity on the wires to make the motor turn both ways.
