    Battery/Engine Cutoff/Disconnect Setup

Hey guys, got an optima with the nova, but the guy had it in the car in passenger foot area. I want to do this all as if were going to the track. so I want to put it in the trunk, and put the required cutoff switch. I'm thinking these two parts are enough.

I saw a diagram, seems an easy deal, positive side comes off battery through cutoff to the ignition.

    thanks for input guys.

Looks good Red. I used the slightly cheaper 4 gauge relocation kit on my truck, which so far has worked just fine. The cut off switch looks fine too.

I'll look for that one, if I can save some money that's great.

I think the difference if I go with that is that t he box isn't NHRA acceptable, so I'll have to finish up the package tray for the "bulkhead" requirement between battery and driver. I don't know why that is required with teh optima series batteries, , they don't have any acid.

I have the steel though, it wouldn't be much work to put a piece under, or over, the package tray, save some money. thanks for the recommendation. did you use the same switch as this one? any trouble wiring it up?

Didn't put a switch in mine. I'll be a weekend cruiser. I'm sure some of the others will chime in though who do some street / strip racing.

The Moroso switch is a good quality unit, Red... I'm sure you already know, but it has to be mounted so that it can be turned off from outside the car...another option is the having the switch mounted in the trunk, then a rod and handle exiting to the rear of the car. Sumitt offers those, too.

is there any advantage to going that route? I guess it has the advantage of being able to remove the rod when driving around town

Yeah, I like the rod type on a Street/Strip car....and remove the rod on the street. Seems I have a number of friends who would really enjoy hitting my shutoff switch when I was crusin' thru town on a Saturday night!!!!! Hey, that's what friends are for, right?????

Is there a kit with two battery hook up with the removable rod.
I like the idea of being able to switch one battey off and using it for back up.
Kinda like they do with boats, But not to sure if NHRA will allow it like that.
Then hook up the other switch to the removable rod.
Is there a kit for this sort of hook up?
    Thanks Kurt
