Usually when shortening rears they use a c clip eliminator kit which removes the c clip and uses pressed on type axle bearings. Shortened rears are usually used for race cars and c clip eliminator is much safer, if your axle snaps, the axles wont come out of the rear end. Just leave them its ok for the street also. KC
