I did this on my last 40 using gaskets that had to be glued. This time I purchased one of Drakes one piece gaskets. I can not see how to make this work. Does anyone have any experience with a one piece and V butting? Joe

On my 38 chevy I eliminated the center and just used clear silicone at the "V" with an aftermarket gasket for the windshield. Never had a leak in the 12 years I had it
slowpoke,
I would like to see some pictures of V butting windshields being installed also, I hope someone has some pictures. I have a 40 Chevy coupe I would like to try that someday.
cffisher,
I read the story about bucket by bucket. When I was a kid that's the way my neighbor did their basement little by little.

I did this on my 48 Ford, used Carpenter's one piece. The gasket pulled the two pieces toward each other, so I used a very small piece of rubber at both the bottom and top of the glass. I let it set for a couple of days to stretch the gasket a little. Then ran the sealer up the Vbutt. You don't want the to pieces of glass to rub.
That was 15 years ago and I've zero problems with the windshield.
