Does anyone know of a source to find half round or half oval 1/2" aluminum strips to fabricate for body side moldings? So far I've only been able to find 3/4" and I think it's too thick to look right on my car. Any leads would be appreciated.

Hopefully someone will know of a source. But failing that you can shape your own if you have a router and some quality carbide bits. You can get round rod down to a 1/4" readily and just flatten one side with a straight bit, or square rod and shape with a half round bit.
you can buy 1/2 round alum drill and tap it blind sand and buff it. i have seen 1/2 round at some big metal dealers
I have also been looking for a source for a piece of hood trim I would like for the top of my three piece 32 hood.
I have found my local industrial metal supply, to list "flat/oval" bar stock in a couple of different widths. It could be stainless, hard to drill/tap but easy to polish. Brass, easier to work, drill, tap for mounting but then you need to have it plated. Or, aluminum easy to work, drill, tap, and is easy to polish but would need a clear coat (powder or anodised) to keep it looking good.
I ran across a guy at the Los Angeles Roadster Show that makes custom trim and it was "very nice", polished aluminum.
