    Good point about the end play, I'll check that next time we are at the shop. We did get rid of that rope rear seal Olds uses. Turns out a 460 Ford 2 piece rubber seal goes right in there. I picked up one today.

    yep that 460 seal works in others has well i think used one in a 455 buick you pick punch it abit were the seal set s locks it better in the block ropes are not bad to do .i can tell you a short story about a 427 crack thru number 5 line bored past were a 010 was loose i told the guy i would do a up a better block for his race car the block was line bored so far the the thrust had to have flats cut in the bearing to fit in the upper main cap with the 010 timing set in the block is very very very loose i put a cam correct in the block on the last re build that was over 5 years ago car runs up to 7500 and flys and want s me to rebuild it and still use the old block chain set is 7 years old all the new chevy bike chain for the rollers bbc and sbc are loose out of the box new
