fabbing my own chasis info needed
I just read 27 bucket heads post and I am now set on building my own frame but I have some q's. I was out in the 30 below weather this afternoon looking at my model t frame and the fact that the front and leaf mounts are tweeked and its flimsy construction has me wanting to just hang it on the wall and forget it. Now to my real questions Streets posted an excellent link to the ntba boards construction of a t bucket frame, the jig, and most of the steps to build something similar. I am looking for more info on where the 2x3 box tubing can be bought online if possible and I saw an old AC stick welder sitting in the back round could it be that this would be worthy of doing a frame with .125 or .187 wall tubing? I have an old lincoln 225 amp stick welder and I have a 120v century gs 155 mig welder.. I am also wondering on the front of the frame it seems everyone used a 2 inch or 3'' tube any reason that it has to be round, could it be a peice of 2x2 and the frame taper down to it? any suggestions this will be the first frame I would be constucting from scratch so any input would be much appreciated
