    Summit Brand PASS/FAIL

I thought I'd start a thread like this where you can share your oppinions on Summit's brand of car parts such as engine parts, tools, etc and let us know what you though about them, price and if it passes or fails. I got this idea from The HAMB on their thread about Harbor Freight tools and thought it was a great idea...
I have used Summit's ignition box's, ignition coil and dissy and they worked great. PASS
Summit brand HEI sbc distributors for around $100. PASS
I know Summit makes cam kits, intakes, engine kits, valve covers, ect ect.

    I like Summit -

Billet/polished water pumps and alternators - pass
Small parts and gaskets - pass
    Belts and hoses - pass
Intake manifold and carbs - pass
Selection and customer service - pass

Handling charges - not so good, but they ship most thing free. They have to get this somewhere..

I have bought several products under the Summit house brand and all have done the job as expected. However, depending on the part and the price differential, I might not always choose the house item, but for many things I would. You put your money down, then you roll the dice. Just that simple.

    summit

I've bought products from Summit since they were operating out of an old gas station on Front st. I can say I've never had a problem with their products or service. The 10.00 handling charge irritates me at times but I'm close enough to drive to the store although with fuel prices as they are it's becoming a toss up. Ive never had a problem with Jegs either. Both pass...Dennis

I use to use Summit late 90's ish. I assume customer service was not up to par then. I had a major despute over a wrong cam in the right box that got installed. Even though the cam was proven beyond a doubt wrong spec. I still had to wait 2 months to get a refund. Ive switched to Jegs ever since. But have purchased from them if Jegs does not have exactly what I want.
