    New Head - Breakin period?

When I put aluminum heads on my Mustangs, the Trick flow twisted wedge heads stated NOT to use synthetic motor oil for the first several hundred miles. It had something to do with the valvetrain wear.
Does anyone know if this is typical with all cylinder head upgrades? I'm about to put Z06 heads on my '98 Corvette and I'm wondering if I need to change the oil since I currently have Mobil 1 in the car?
