Hello, I can appreciate what you are taking on here. I have done a 32 Chevy Sedan and am now building a 31 Coupe. Lots of wood to replace.I don't know if that crossmember will work or not. What I did was bought and installed a Heidts Super Ride IFS for a 34 Chevy and it worked on my 32. I would think it would probably work on the 27. As a matter of fact I have a brand new, never installed Superride crossmember going on E-bay tonight or tomorrow.They are spendy but the ride is awsome. Later.

Chevette stuff is too spindly for a rod. MII is the minimum, and I don't think much of it either! Why not put a Chev pickup straight axle with a disc brake conversion under it?

I've got a friend running a chevette with a pontiac V8 in it and it's holding up quite well. Don't know if it will work in your car though. I take it your trying to save money?
