Are there ways to tell if a part is original or repo?

I know when i got my 60 falcon every part had fomoco still stamped on it, im not sure if they only did that to factory parts, but i personally have never seen that on aftermarket parts. Even the brake shoes had it on them.
I looked on the back of the bumper and did'nt see any markings of anything.
Why does it matter so much...as long as the part is good?
I had a person inquire about my bumper and they asked if it was original. I guess if a person is restoring a car and they want all original parts it matters to them.
I was told today that if you look inside the ends of the bumper and in the middle of the ring there will be a washer inside the bumper if it's a repop.
Mine has that ring, so I guess it's not an original.
An original '32 ford Bumer will have bolts which are completely rusted together.
If you drop it and it breaks, it's not made in the USA. If it doesn't break, you know it's OK:)
if the part fits it's a good chance it's a usa part
