Engine was in a late 80s one ron 4x4, probably didn't come in it. All I know is it's a big block, never messed with mopars much. So, is there an easy way to ID it?

Hey Will
look for the flat pad just under the dist and if it's a 440 it'll be stamped 440, if it's a 383
it won't say 383, there is more to the story and take Bob's advice for the rest of the story.
Dave
There are low and high block big block Chryslers. The way to tell is by the left front corner of the block. If the water pump boss is flush with the head surface its a low block, if its an inch or so below its a high. Up to 400 is low, 413 and up, high. Well, except for the first 383, but you'll probably never see one of those any more.
