I need to know this so I can order the parts for my new front end.
A manufacture asked me if the frame dimensions were the same
as the 65 mustang. I don’t know, I thought he should know that!
I told him what the frame dimensions for the 65 ranchero were.
Maybe I should use a different manufacture if he does’nt know
    that!
Since they build the front end for the 65 mustang, you would
    think he would know.

I could be wrong, but wasn't the Ranchero based on the Falcon platform as opposed to the Mustang platform? They might be the same, but you are running a big risk ordering something so important based on just a guess.

I agree with you Kurt, he should know what he is building. You know the dimensions of your rails, can't he factor that in? Maybe it is time to seek another source. What is the name of the company, maybe we can provide some feedback on how good they are.

The Mustang was based on the Falcon platform also. I'd still wait for someone who has first hand experience to answer though Kurt.

Heidts might be ok, I've only seen their ads. One I can not recommend is Scotts Hot Rods for a front end. Dan bought a custom made one for an S10 he did, and everything was off in it, and the components they sent were the wrong size (A arms and lower arms), the steering rack was way to wide, and generally the whole thing had to be cut up and put back together right. Oh, and it took FOREVER to get it, after lots of phone promises.

He should know but probably has never left the office he makes sales from to even look at the guy busting his hump making the actual part, thats if they are even in the same building, state, or country. He could easily find out and if he cant within 2 days I would not buy from them. And if the words, it should work, or probably are the same roll out of his mouth. Chances are he still has not found out for sure. That would be a pretty major screw up to get to that point and it be wrong.
