Can I use any old shock on my truck as long as it is the same length as my old one? Seems like I ought to be able to but I thought I would ask. No heavy hauling, just a 6x10 trailer loaded with a rider mower on occasion.

I currently have what looks like the original shocks (no shock action whatsoever, rubber completely gone/deteriorated) and I want to buy some local instead of special ordering somwheres. I may have to get new springs or spring helpers as the originals are saggin a bit.
