Just throwing around the idea of a sliding ragtop, my friend just finished a VW bug with one and I like it.
Does anyone know where to get them to fit a Model A. I have the roof panel in so I figure it shouldn't be too hard to install if I could find one that's more or less flat, not convex like on the bug.

i was thinking about a sliding ragtop and came across this site before on an internet search. it seems to have a lot of options and should be easy to find one to fit the way you want. another idea would be to look for a brand new wrecked jeep liberty with the sliding ragtop. it might not be a cheap option since only the newest ones have them, but i bet they are designed well seeing as how they decided to use it on a 2008 jeep.

i think im leaning toward either a removeable lexan panel or if i can settle for a smaller opening maybe put in a roof section from some car with a normal sunroof. i think some of the older Saabs have a manual sunroof which eliminates all wiring...
That was the only site I could find that will sell them, the others would only sell to dealers and have them install it, yea right I'm gonna let some hack like me figure it out and pay him the money:rolleyes: .
I actually found one that should fit perfectly 34"x68", looks like I'll be cutting out that roof insert I just installed. I decided for my next build it will be two identicle cars side by side and when I finish something on the first I'll do it the way I REALLY want it on the second:LOL: . Every day I start to understand Dons son more and more....

I recently sold a 95 Cavalier Z34 it had been wrecked. I was using some parts for our 97 Cavalier, and I really thought about using the power sunroof on the 40 or 41 Chevy coupes. I put it on Cragslist to get it out of the garage for more room, which I’m always running short of. The 97 Cavalier also has a sunroof so maybe when it quits I may use it.

Attaboy! I have wasted a lot of dreaming time trying to figure out how to add either a Lexan top or a sliding canvas top to various sedans to make them into something like the Model A-400. I did not know there is a professional model; I bookmarked that site, thanks.
