best place to mount a/c dryer ??

needing to know what is the best place to mount the a/c dyer on my 39 chevy coupe? I can mount it near the front of the engine on the inner fender next to the radiator catch can.which looks to be the easiest spot. or I can mount it next to the firewall on the inner fender, the possible only problem here is that is will be 2" from the #8 exhaust tube on the header & 3" above the header collector tube, will the dryer be to hot there to work correctly? if I have it mount at the front of the engine will it freeze up? as I said earlier in both positions it will be in the engine compartment. if it makes a differents it is a bbc 454 running @ 200-210 degrees.

is mounting the dryer inside the car behind the dash, or in front of the radiator on the condenser? has anyone else mounted the dryer in the car?

Lots of pruduction cars mount em up beside the radiator,and some mount em near the firewall. lots of under hood heat on em in either case. But I would keep it as far away from header tubes as possible...

There's probably a reason that car makers keep them close to the condenser.

did read in the instruction sheet,the most important thing is to mount the dryer in the coolest place possible it listed that the dryer can be mounted insided the car as a option, it seems to me that would be the coolest spot on my car. has anyone else done this?, had any problems? since I have a sub dash panel that hides every thing behind the dash it would be a good place for me(I think) .that way, I will have a "cleaner" engine area with no dryer mount in there.

I just finished mounting one up under the dash. The lines all fell into place nicely. Gotta be cool up there. I used a billet bulkhead kit for the pass thru on the firewall. The whole system came out nice and clean.

well behind the dash for me then, glad I can put it there the dryer is ugly!!

Then maybe you need a purty Chrome one!:LOL: :LOL:

Mine is mounted behind the grill in front of the condenser, but I've seen quite a few mounted to the fire wall. But they are either chrome or polished billet.

Mine is on the firewall and it's black,but you can't see it because I have it mounted real low.I didn't have any room in front of the condenser or the dash.
It works fine ,I think sometimes it's going to blow snow out the vents.LOL,LOL
