Hey ,Old Pal, Old buddy. I was bring my old cars to georgia and started having the same problem and had it for five years until i ran across a fellow here in Hartwell. I was told the same thing and every thing to and including to change my distribor. anyway I changed starters and batterys ,alternators. but failed to change the regulator. I thought it it was internal AND HE CHECKED IT AND WAS INTERMITANT. Haven't had a problem since . Check the regulator ,
