Her`s some more.
Her`s what i got done last night.had to quite after the beers kicked in, the lines where getting blurry.
It`s kinda hard to see the lines on the rear fender section from the pics, but im really happy with the smooth curves i achieved, it flows real nice. I believe i can pull this one off with very little filler needed at the end, im real pleased so far.
personally I think '49-'52 Fleetlines look goofy chopped, but even so, I can still recognize good workmanship, and it's looking pretty good :)
Those fastbacks gotta be the hardest chops to get right, looks like you did! The trunk and backlight pivotting around the rear edge of the trunk and flattening the rear window a bit did the trick. She'll look like she's doin' a hunnert, sitting still!
I agree, but this is whatb he wanted so i got to do it. I think a real small chop would look good ,like maybe 1 1/2"
Hotrod you are doing it right like above a hard one to chop . This style looks great chopped but some of the coupes dont so keep up the pics its great learning for future rodders like me . .Quote:

Nice work, I can see a nice custom in the near future. I wish I could make that first cut on my 51 Plymouth I've had for several years. I would like to cut the top off and put a carson on it!!!! It's true what they say about the first cut being the hardest, keep the pictures coming, and I just may try even if I waste it, it wouldn't be that bad I only paid a $1000 7 or 8 years ago for it.

Looks good so far!!!! Looks like you have some bracing in their to hold things together when you cut.....Most people forget that step and wonder why things move around so much!!!!! You'll know you did it right when it's all done and someone asks you if it is chopped!!!!!!!
Hotrod i just figured out the 1/4 cuts to drop deck with roof line great move . Kept it all smooth and flowing , took me awhile of staring at it but it came together.
