Just looking for some tools to do my brake and fuel lines. I want stainless and wondered if these would be okay to use:
bender:

Do I need a tubing cutter also or can I use something else? I assume these will work for fuel lines as well.
Also is it okay to do all AN fittings instead of the double flare, I thought I read you couldn't double flare stainless steel?

hi sean google imperial eastman much better tubing tools and alot cheaper than granger git the bender with the roller I have both the roler type far better also be aware an fittings ar 37 deg not 45 just trying to help ted
Thanks, I'll check it out. I would like to do AN fittings all around since some of my stuff is already AN.
Oh yea, better make sure of the 37 degrees, almost overlooked that.

As far as I'm concerned, the Grainger tools are fine - those you show are Rigid brand.
BUT
The bender really isn't heavy duty enough for 3/8 gas line and the flare tool will not do 37 degree single flares for -AN/SS. You just cannot do the 3/8 with that bender, I can guarantee your hands aren't big enough unless you are a retired wrestler

You need a separate bender - with long enough handles for 3/8 and larger -
As far as a tubing cutter, get a Rigid with a cutter for hard metals. What you buy in the Big Box stores are for copper and aluminum.
As a suggestion, do your plumbing in regular steel then copy to SS
NO YOU CANNOT DOUBLE FLARE STAINLESS - IT WILL CRACK

Don't buy that $30 POS Speedway sells - it IS a POS. It looks like Summit and Jeg's sell the same POS as well
Sean, while searching around, I found this Rigid #41162 for $106, here is a Rigid 5/16" bender for $67 from the same site.
