Boring Aluminum Fuel tank for sending unit???
I will be needing to bore a hole in my gas tank for the sending unit. Is there a way to keep the metal bits from falling into the tank, or if not how can I get them out after drilling?

A vacuum cleaner with a small nozzle works good, followed by lots of rinsing and blow drying before installing the sending unitYesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Pressurize the tank with compressed air while you use a hole saw and the chips will blow out

Some grease one the outer and inner edge of the hole saw will catch a lot of it.
I had to enlarge the sending unit hole in mine to a bigger sender. After the hole was drilled I used a wad of masking tape wrapped stickey side out around the end of a coathanger. Worked great.
There are some pictures on the botom of this page.

I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
