I am having more problems with polishing the car and now i'm getting angry. We sprayed the clear about 5 months ago and are now trying to polish. I've wet sanded everything up to 2500 grit sandpaper and I still have scratches after running the polisher over it. I think it's because we waited so long and the clear is so hard now the rubbing compound I have can't take out the scratches. Let me know if you think that's it or have any other theories. Thanks.
Way too long to wait for the cut and buff.... Only thing I can think of is to just keep lightly wet sanding with 2500....or maybe some Trizac 3000 grit dry on a DA.....

Do you think a more aggressive kind of rubbing compound would work or should I put another coat or two of clear on and then buff?
What rubbing compound are you using now??? Could try the heavy cut 3M, can't remember the name of it right off, heck can't remember my own name some days!!!!!!:LOL: :LOL: :LOL:
Oh yeah, it's Perfect-it 3000 Extra Cut, it's quite aggressive....
i would go with 3m machine rubbing compond blue label with a wool wheel slow speed then go to 3m finess with a wool wheel then use a foam wheel use whatever you like

I'm using 3m's perfect-it. I think the number is 03580, but i'm not sure. A guy at the local ABS sad to try sanding it again or go to a rubbing compound that cut more. I really don't want to sand it again.
trizac 3000 wet.. might take a while. then extra cut with the wool pad, then go back over with foam pad and extra cut then finish with some 3m swirl mark remover *blue* should come out good!
you are not going to cut or move your sand scraches with a foam wheel or a compound that as no grit to it. if it very hard paint been there done it many times:D the super fine papers were made to not use the old stuff wool wheel s and heavy body rubbing componds but set up paint the old way works good wool wheel and compound then go to foam
If comes down to painting or sanding again i'll gladly put more clear on. that stuffs rock hard now and my arms too feable to be sanding for a month of sundays.

I'm sorry, i guess i don't understand what your'e telling me.
you need to cut your sanding marks you up past 2000 grit what you have for a compond is not moving your marks and in to a buff you need to go to some thing that will do that PM me if you want call me and i will tell you how to do itQuote:

back in the old days we use to cut them with 1000 or 600 and buff them with old super red lable 3m was about 1000grit the machine rubbing is not as heavy cut i never used any finer then 1500 used 1200 and wool then went to foam that seem to get them dead flat
