What do you guys like to set your fuel pressure regulator at? I am running a 850cfm Holley on a 454. I have a hydraulic flat tappet stick, so it will only see 5500 - 6000 rpm.

assuming carb,6-7 psi around there, you can tailor it to your car from there
I am running 6.5 lbs on mine with a holley blue pump pushing 650 horse. Between 6 to 7 pounds is a typical setting on a carbed motor. At 6.5 pounds I can dissconect my fuel line and fill a 5 gallon can in about a minute. So with saying that 6.5 pounds is alot of fuel.
The pressure would me good as Moon and Truck stated, but make sure you have enough fuel volume, too.... A 5/16" fuel line probably won't cut it for any high performance use......
The fuel cell is in the trunk, and sealed up. Filter and Pump hang below on the frame with 1/2 inch braided running along the frame to the regulator which is mounted on the inner fender. From the regulator to carb, I am using 3/8 inch braided. We are guessing about 500 h.p. with this motor.
Should work fine with that fuel pressure, plenty of volume.
I was wondering if everyone agrees on 6-7 in lbs, is an OEM / Napa feul pump adequate? Edelbrock tech notes have lots of discussion about TOO MUCH FUEL PRESSURE causing problems.
The amount of fuel required is based on Brake Specific Fuel Consumption. Basically you need 8-9 GPH (gallons per hour) per 100 HP. That sizes your pump.
I would run it at 6-6.5 psi.

Thank you Kitz. I think the stock does that.
