Don, I don't believe you'd like the dim output from the running lamp bulb to act as the directional.
Are you saying you have more than 2 circuits to each side of the rear?
I have seen it done that way but, don't know why you'd want to add circuits when the directional switch can handle that chore for you. Like IC2 I have 3 circuits at the back of the car. #1 - running & lic.plate lamps. Then Left stop/turn signal and Right stop/turn signal. I purchased a directional switch from Lime Works and could digitize the directions and send them to you - it may offer some help. They aren't very descriptive tho...
