have a 70 chevy 12 bolt out of a camaroin my 57 chevy truck, can't ever get the rear drums to grab enough!!!! how do you adjust the pad when there is no axcess hole in the backing plate to insert a brake spoon to spin the star gear?

there self adjusting... just need to tap the brakes several times going backwards to adjust them.. they won't over adjust.
Thats what I am thinking ?? Might want to try new pads and fliud.Quote:

Is there an access hole in the drum itself instead of the backing plate? If the drums are new look for a line in the drum in the oval shape of an access hole. If you find one it might be a knock out that will have to be knocked out with a punch. I just built a chassis for a friends 37 chevy pick up and used his later model chevy rear end. The access hole was in the drum.
