Think of it like a hotrod engine....when the engine only produces what is needed to maintain the speed limit,but has more in reserve.
The alternator is the same way ,it only puts out what is needed ,but has more in reserve...... 200 amp is not going to hurt.......unless you do not upgrade to the correct guage wire for that type of output.Its gunna take longer than u thought and its gunna cost more too(plan ahead!)

I agree , Luckily I have upgraded all my pos and neg. wires. Even the body to motor and motor to frame grounding.Friends dont let friends drive fords!
