They said they would put it in the vat and clean it up, I imagine that uses some chemical cleaning agents....
The Egr starts to open at 2500 rpm's,if it is stuck open or partially it will simulate a vacum leak. Can ypu plug it off and try it ?Put a shim between the port and the EGR and tighten it down and try it.
Okay, here's some pics before its gets the brake cleaner
Also I can move the diaphragm with my finger up and down freely

Ok it didn't leak out of the pintle, it seems all the brake clean went down into the diaphragm and started filling the diaphragm up???
If I was you Id just buy a new one......
Alright well just replaced the EGR valve and still no go, my truck still won't hold an idle.
After I did it, I thought it was working because I started it, and she jumped up to fast idle like normal and was warming up like normal:rolleyes: , but soon as she kicked down to a regular idle, then bam, stumble and die:eek:
Don't laugh too much, but for as many times as I have taken a carb on and off, especially on this truck, somehow I managed to put the carb gaskets on backwards:eek: , thus creating a very big vacuum leak at the base of the carb.:whacked:
Found it by spraying carb cleaner around the manifold and carb.
BTW the manifold was sealed all the around, no vacuum leaks on it anywhere....or coolant :3dSMILE:
So flipped the gaskets around and she runs B-E-A-utiful.:D
Still can't believe I managed to do this... :o :HMMM:
Thanks for all the help, I really really appreciate it,
Thanks again:toocool:
At least you now know the EGR valve is the least of your worries...
