Alternator Problem
In my stupidity, while jumping my battery, I crossed the jumper cables. The covering of my single wire to the alternator (internal regulator) fried and ended up frying the alternator. I had it rebuilt and reinstalled it, but I have a wire with a female end that slips over the male terminal on the alternator. When I turn the key on, that wire heats up and starts smoking. My single wire to the back of the alternator seems fine and doesn't heat up, although I've not yet started the engine.
Can anyone tell me what they think the problem is? What is the purpose of the male terminal on the alternator?
Thanks,
Ron
Very impressed with the trim especially because Stainless is a PITA. Thanks for your post.
