Hi Ya'll!
I want to use a set of nice mags I found for my '38 Ford Pickup. My new TCI front suspension has Chevy hubs, the mag wheels came off an S-10. My current rear end is a Ford 9". I want a rear diff. that would use the same bolt pattern as the Chevy front. Truck has a stock GM350 and Th400. I am a cruiser not a dragger.
Could I use a S-10 rear end?
What other rear end options might there be?

sure .. do you have a leaf spring rear suspension ? just relocate the brackets and make a new drive shaft if need be ..if the widths are close enuff for you to work withQuote:

Why not just get the axles redrilled to 5 on 4 3/4" (chevy). would be lot cheaper and easier than changing the whole differential. Any competent machine shop can do it or you can send them to Currie or Moser.

Like 41 Willys sez, drill the axles. A 9" is far superior to any rear that has the Chev bolt pattern, and you already have it!
redrilling is an excellant idea .. i drilled the front rotors on my V8 pinto to 5 lug patern .. or iv`e had good luck with adapters .. ran them on my t bird for 10 years .. even went drag racing with them on
Good idea. Problem with the s10 rearends is that they are very narrow, even moreso than the 8 inch Fords out of Mavericks and all those cars. As far as strenght, they are ok, but not if you are going to abuse them with any regularity.
