Marilyn, you are talking apples and oranges. The 216 Chevy could be made to fit but it would be lots of work. You'd have to build new motor mounts and then figure out how to adapt the chevy to the dodge transmission. Using the Chevy trans is not an option as it uses a torque tube drive shaft instead of the usuall open drive shaft.
Lot's of work for little gain.

The 216 is a babbit pounder, if it ever failed, it's gonna cost you over $3k for a basic rebuild, need special tooling to line up the oil dippers on the crank, and you would almost have to send the block to chevsofthe40s to have the main bearings re poured. also, it's a low preassure oiler, anything over 3,500 rpm, for an extended period of time, could kill it. cruising speed, was right around 2,500 RPM.
Not going to happen easily. Even if it were free, why would you even want to do it. Lot cheaper to patch up the original and run it till you can get exactly what you want, say a small block Hemi, certainly NOTTA small block Chevy.
