I have a set of VDO, (Royale) gauges installed in my Abone. Recently my voltage gauge went haywire. When I turn on the ignition, the needle goes clockwise and buries itself off the scale. When I tap the gauge, it will work normally for a while then the same thing happens. I had a friend who builds street rods and is an expert electrical guy in the Rochester area. He took a look at it and said everything looks to be correct. He can't explain it and suggested that I replace the gauge.

Has anyone else experienced this type of problem? If so, what did you do to correct it? Is the gauge repairable?
