Bias ply tires THAT bad?

So I'm loving the look of fat WW bias ply tires. That squared off tread and such just screams "old school" to me. I plan to get a set of the Coker Classic series for my 37. I've been beaten up left and right by people talking about how terrible they are, and the truck will be all over the road, etc. I'm just having a hard time with getting the radial fat WW's....they just don't have that "look".
Any input from you guys?

I drove on bias plies half of my life - well, the early half :LOL: . I don't think they ride as well as modern radials, but I don't see any significant danger in using them. If your front end alignment is correct, and the steering is tight, they'll track just fine. They're made better today than they were back in the day. On that truck, they'll look good.

You'll get pretty strong stances on both sides of your question. If you want them, do it.

I agree with Henry. I drove a '36 5 window coupe all over So. Cal. in the '60's and never had any problems. I'm not a big fan of wide whites, never was, but to each their own.

i have big mickey t's bias plys they dont hook but they ride alright. :LOL:
