Sterring column/shaft help

Howdy, Noob here.

I have been drafted to help my borther-in-law restore a 30 ford coupe hot rod and need some help. The front end on the rod current is from a Mustang with rack and pinion steering, 80's I believe.

The steering rod to connect the column currently is routed through the headers to the firewall. Can anyone recommend parts that would allow us to move the rod so that it runs along the left side of the frame and then into the firewall to the column?

Not sur if this would be possible with just using steering u-joints due to angle limits.

I should be able to post pictures later if that would help with describing what the current setup is.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I tried searching thrugh the forum, but without knowing what part name I am looking for, I didn't find anything I thought was correct.

Cruise the Deuce Den forum and search 'steering column'. I would say most A's and maybe half of the 32's end up using a support bearing to negotiate the required angles. I was able to not have to use one and there are other examples in the Deuce Den.
