Tudor front seats to be specific... I am trying to figure out what I am going to put in mine... I was thinking of using '65 - '66 Mustang seats, but they are total 44" wide and I don't think they will fit... What seats are others using if not stock seats... Let's see some pics and some info.... Thanks...

I had a 65 mustang when I was in high school and was never real impressed with the comfor of the seats. Get out a tape measure and go to the local wrecking yard and start measuring. For the Tudor you will want to keep your choices to smaller 2 door cars so the seats will tilt forward for back seat access. I Run a Custom upholstery shop and have done a couple of rods but nothing older that a 46 Ford so I'm not sure how much room you have. I have used seats out of a mid 80's Chrystler LaBaron that were very comfortable and pretty narrow to boot. My own 46 Tudor I am using seats out of a early 80's Mercure (a european car imported by Mercury) They measure a little under 21 inches each and are very comfortable. I upholstered these with out the headrest and they look great that way.Quote:

Is the width of the 31 RPU the same as the 31 Sedan... I have a '66 mustang and I could swear that my seats measured 22" or 44" for the total width and I measured the Sedan and didn't see that they would fit.... I think a set of Mustang seat frames with new padding in them would be fairly comfortable in the sedan...Quote:

or '64-'65 Falcon Buckets, there almost the same as Mustang seats also.
late model cougar seats would work great in there.
I plan on using 66 mustang seats in my 28 model a coupe.
the mustang seats should work fine. I finished one that had 69 camaro seats installed. the guy had to do a little special seat track mounting but it works. you can see it on my website.
You guys are making me re-think about the Mustang seats... I guess I need to go measure again and figure out how to make them work... Thanks everyone!!
How much you willing to pay for a set? I can go sneak the set out of my wife's 66 stang. LOL!
Mine are from Fiero ,good fit proportion for car.
Stillkruzn---I think all model A fords were the same inside width, but I was wrong once before.:LOL: :LOL: My RPU is made from a cut down 1931 two door sedan, and if there is a difference anywhere, it might be that my bucket seats set back farther from the stock firewall than the original seats did. From the inside of the original firewall to the front of my seats measures 28 1/2". The taper inside thes old bodies is pretty dramatic, so the closer to the firewall your seats are, the narrower they will have to be. (I am fairly short, at 5'-7", but I couldn't live with any less leg-room than that). I do have a 4" recess in my firewall, to let me run a small block chev V8 and still run a stock length hood and stock 103 1/2" wheelbase.
and with Fiero seats you get built in speakers !!!
For goodness sakes, show us a picture of these Fiero buckets you like so much!!!---If they are a low back style, and still incorporate a speaker, that would be a real bonus. There is so much wind noise in my RPU that I can't hear the radio at anything over 40 MPH.Quote:

I used chevy cavalier seats in my coupe, they're a nice fit and comfortable plus the price was right at $40 for the pair.
