I'm still in the drawing/concept stage of flame design trying to discover what really looks good to the human eye. Two undenyable requirements are graphic symetry and color contrast. The human eye likes balance and you've got to have dark, to see light and vice versa.

In my novice opinion, add some red flames over the white for more color/graphic symetry. Then fill the blue with more evenly spaced stars. Not too many, just enough to contrast the dark blue field.

That should bring it all together.

I agree with your observation 100%, but at this point it would be very difficult to do those things. When we were adding the stars I thought I was adding too many, but after the fact I should have added more. What we did was paint a white base under the blue, place the star stickers and then paint blue over the white base. To do that now would mean a lot more work....LOL! As far as the red I think it needed more too, but now it would be hard to get everything to match up right, so I'm pretty much stuck with what I have now.

Here is a picture of my new seat that my wife covered for me. The eagle hopefully will compliment the outside scheme. The rest of the interior will be done in the same silver and red.

Your seat looks fantastic. I've always been intrigued by upolsterers, and how they get those seams just right. Your wife's talented.

As you are - your car will look great when it all comes together.

I guess you're right about the extra paint layers.
Just wouldn't look right with some stars under and some over the blue.

I have ZERO talent when it comes to this stuff. All I did with the paint was buy it, help sand it, and help tape off the flames once they were laid out on the car.

My wife's family runs a shop and she worked part-time as a teenager doing seats. She is now a Nurse, but by the way the seats turned out she still has talent. After she gets finished with mine she is going to redo her Mustang I bought her a couple of weeks ago.

One thing is for sure I have a new respect for you guys that paint for numerous reasons. It's time consuming, expensive, and takes tons of talent. I helped sand on the car in different stages, and I also helped mask off the flames once they were laid out, and it really takes time and patience. I now fully understand why it costs what is does to get a car painted. Just my supplies alone costed over $1,500
