Slp Ss??

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to identefy a SLP SS. Is there badging, stickers, codes, or in the VIN somewhere?

there is a code listed in the door jam...starts with "W" I believe WU8 maybe? Do not rely on badging, hoods, spoilers, floor mats or anything else because anyone can slap that stuff on. An SS can not be determined from the vin on a 96-97 SS. the LS1 cars were manufactured differently, but I don't think those can be detirmined from the vin either. It's been a little while since I've researched this stuff :/....
