Price- Quick change rear end ?

Where is the best price for a quick change rear end, for a custom Hot Rod ? Winters, Hailbrand ect ?

i just got a winters 3/4 ton rear for my 32 ford , i got the 3/4 because im gonna be pushing 500hp out of my blower motor , but halibrand and winters use the same stuff inside basiclly so find your best price and run with it but if you are having big power get the h/d

Yup, Winters and Halibrand are fairly much identical on the inside. As mentioned, I would be more concerned about making sure the rear end could handle the power.... Winters may have a tiny edge on strength, at least that is what the current batch of circle burners claim. For highway use, you might also want to consider the big rear cover for the extra oil capacity on the spur gears, should help a bit keeping them cool. If you want to get a tad exotic on it, maybe run a pump and cooler????

We race 360 winged sprint cars and found out tonight that at least......the Winters center section is stronger. An absolutely horrible accident at I-80 speedway. Took out 7 cars. A friend was involved but, damage was light. The rear coupler on the torque tube (attached to the center section) all the bolts were torn out. The shaft, torque tube & rear end was fine, it just broke the coupler ! We had the same thing happened to us last year but,..... the whole housing split in two. Basically, the same situation but we HAD, a Hailbrand. Since then be bought a new Winters. Cost him tonight apx. $30. Us last year,....$3500. What I plan on building, is a street legal, two person, sprint car. As close to our racing sprint as possible. Even using knock off wheels so, I may buy a normal yoke street rod Winters pumpkin , and add sprint axles, tubes and wheels. I've seen several street legal sprint cars that looked pretty bad, hopefully not mine, we'll see. If it can't be very close, it's not worth building. I may sell raffle tickets to the fans at the local track, for rides in the sprint. They now have a two seater I.M.C.A Modified that does the same thing. And maybe also at car shows with my Cobra. 600 HP street legal sprint car that can also handle a track. I've checked our states requirements and so far, it sounds like it's a go with my plans. Hum......what do you think ?

Terry McCarl raised a ton of money selling rides and giving "training rides" in his two seat sprinter. Know that he's with WOO, no idea where the car is. It sure did work well for him...

I did hear the Terry had one. A friend of our's, Larry Pinegar II know's him well. I'll ask if he can contact Terry for information & photo's.

Probably some on the Huset's web site, at least there used to be. The Rubin boys own the place, if there's no pics there I'm sure they would know who had them....

I just email the track. I did not know the owners name when I wrote. I may try and contact Rubin's directly. Thanks for your help.

By the way, since you know of Terry, one of the bad wrecks I mentioned above, Jake Peters was one of them. The car was totaled but, he was ok. A bit in La,...La, land, though.
