This is for my air compressor. I have upgraded all my lines and connections to 3/8" ID and 1/2" fittings. I cannot find anything better than 1/4 filters at home depot and loews. The filters from Harbor freight with 1/2" inlet/outlet seem to flow too low. I figured some one with better knowledge could point me in the right direction. I am not looking for the cheapest filter and dont mind paying for something a little bigger to give more air flow. Thanks

it flows pretty well. the fitting the elbow connects to is 3/8", behind it there is the big retaining bolt that holds both caps on, but it is far enough back from the fitting, and the center of the bolt is polished to a mirror finish ( probably stainless too ). it flows good. tonight, I'll go out and dig out the instructions, see if it has CFM ratings, I think it does. your compressor ratings are backwards, you would have more CFM @ 40 PSI than @ 90 PSI.
What do you think about two filters in parallel?
is this for the compressor in your truck? (suspension) or shop?
I use a dessicant filter that I bought at a military surplus auction, no idea who makes it...Works great. I think Sharp or DeVilbiss offers a good one. As for your plasma arc, the flow requirements for light duty hot rod type work are low enough that even a Harbor Freight cheapie should be adequate.... I would consider spending some $$$$ and getting a good one, you're going to need it eventually. Easy and cheap way to lessen the amount of water in your system is to put a 3' or 4' U shaped loop in the line with a drain valve at the bottom of the U....

Depending on what you want, they will definately be able to accomodate you.
with my seperator, the 1/2" line feeding it, goes into a 90* bend all the way up to the celing, then back down, almost leval with the work bench ( just enough space between it and the work bench, to open drain ), my compressor makes a lot of water, but I never have got water out of the seperator.Quote:
