motor mount vs manifold interference
I'm trying to install a 427 into my 59 Chevy and have purchased a new set of exhaust manifolds that are cast 14045184 RH and 3964244 RH on the right side manifold. My problem is the 69 Impala mounts hit the manifold on the right side.
Is there a site that shows the different types of mounts for the varios years and body styles available.
Our NAPA only caries newer mounts so we can't pull them off the shelves to compare different ones.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

GM has had this problem from year to year and engine to frame problems. It's no "biggie". You didn't sate whether this was a vertical clearance prob or what so I will just state that the 3 bolt motor mount is the same between big and samll blocks. Try the spacer that GM provided on so many cars to give yourself clearance upwards (away from the mount) Dealers and salvage yards have them cheaply and "by the dozen". Hope this helps.

if the block needs to go up just make a flat plate to lift it abit use the mount for a pattern for the 3 hole spacing and put it in between the block and mount. if this will not help you may want a mainfold off a carmaro with rear streer if that is where your streering box is in back of front cross member if you can post a photos that would help.

Are you using anti-break mounts? try using a pair of non-anti break mounts, they have a smaller profile. Just a thought.
I believe there is more than 3 different mounts, I know that a 307 in Chevelle has different mounts and mount brackets than any other motor in the same Chevelle.
What did the 427 come out of? What do the mounts look like for that?
