Thats a great idea to use a Ford ps pump. That was in the back of my mind, but the thought got lost in a efford to find a way to reduce the chevy pump pressure. I might be forced to go that route but prefer to try the Chevy pump first. (I have a new GM pump & Allen Grove brks)
Dave...what valve did you use & how much camber are you running?Don Meyer, PhD-Mech Engr(48 GMC Trk/chopped/cab extended/caddy fins & a GM converted Rolls Royce Silver Shadow).

Chevy pump fix
I read an article in some mag many years ago (maybe Street Rodder???) on this problem. Their solution, as I remember, was to weaken the spring in the pump by cutting out a coil or two. I did this and it worked for me. Running it still on a 36 Plymouth with small block Mopar, GM pump and Mustang II power rack.
