    Another question for 82 camaro

OK. I recently upgraded my exhoust (1 5/8 " shorty headers to 1 7/8" long tube Hustler headers). Here is my problem. I could not buy a big tube long header to fit a 82 camaro. All headers were made for 83-92 camaros. When I called the manufacturer they said that most 82 camaros had larger control arms than the 83-92's. They said that I needed to find a 83 on up donar car and change out the control arm as the header MAY have clearance problems. The last thing I want to do is start taring into the front end. Anyone had this problem with their 82. If so, is there a work around.......victor the torch or walt the grinder???

Don't know for sure, if you run into a clearance problem, I have an '85 parts car I could probably help you out. Gonna be a bit til I can get at it though, weather is miserable and the car is parked outside at the farm.... Let me know if they don't fit or what you will need.... Think I'm going to end up building headers for my '82, can't find anything even close to what I want for tube size and length. Anxious to hear how yours fit.... Could you get me a pic when you get them on????

    header pics

Dave, Thanks for the generosity. I am hoping to fit the headers this weekend as the motor is ready to be pulled. I will surely post some pics regardless of the outcome. If I run into problems I should have a very good idea of which way to go.

    Thx,
    Scott
