We're getting ready to finish the custom headers for a customer's BBC/Feuling headed combo and I need to have a set of custom copper gaskets cut for the Funky Feuling Flanges. Before I go out and get some copper that is too soft or too hard for gaskets, I figured I'd tap into the collective knowledge here. So, what kind of copper is best for header flange gaskets? TIA! :)

i whould have them made but if you want to make them i would find a cooper that is not dead soft and then done you can make them dead soft by getting them hot they will turn color and putting them in cold water cooper is hard to machine is soft you would be better to punch any holes in it than cutting with a mill
I have a set of copper header gaskets for the Camaro, they are quite soft.... I would say (without a method of testing) very similar, if not the same as the dead soft material used for head gaskets....
i think any cooper can be made by the way i told him i know for sure you do not want to start with dead soft and mill it you will wrap it all up a round the end mill:LOL:
Oh I forgot to mention that they'll be waterjetted. I'll look for dead soft. Thanks for the info guys!

buy a blank from sce or i think 110 copper i think it as soft enough
110 copper, ok thanks Pat.
the 110 is i think the easier to find it is used for electrical conductivity i think it is soft your metal supplier will tell you if it is. or look in to roofers that use cooper for flashing on roofs
