Sunroof in a Model A
We are currently building a 31 Model A 5 window coupe for a customer that has asked about having a sunroof installed in it. Is there anyone that offers a kit for installing something like this or has anyone attempted something like this?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Kurt

Not all that tough to do, I've done it for customers but never one for myself..... Last one I put in was in a steel Deuce Sedan, used the whole roof section out of a Mid-90's Grand Prix, worked good. About 6 months after the car was done, the owner said he wished he would have listened when I tried to talk him out of it.... Even a well done install for some reason just looks out of place on a hot rod.......

I have already tried to talk them out of it. I will however try again. I was looking at using something out of a latemodel car but was wondering if anyone sold a kit specificatley for this. I don't like the idea at all but it's not mine so if I exhaust all of my resources before any decisions are made I'll feel alot better about it.

Dave and I were pretty much saying the same thing. These cars just don't look right with a sunroof installed in them.

How about a sliding canvas top like the VW bus had? It would give you a working top with the option of letting in the sun without looking so out of place.

I remember an article from a few years ago from one of the big rod magazines----It dealt with using the motorized retractable 'moon roof" from an Audi being swapped into a model A sedan. The nice thing about the Audi "moon roof" was that when it is closed the contour of the roof is unbroken.
