Maybe just go for the looks, and let him keep the 4 popper economy. You could go with the suspension pieces to lower the truck and still maintain good driveability.... Maybe trick out the interior with some gauges, good shifter, custom upholstery, heck maybe even a roll bar and some race seats....?????

I'm betting you could get a pro charger or a Paxton supercharger kit to fit the 2.2

A turbo off a 2.3 Mustang four would wake that popper up!

or a 2.2 Mitsubishi turbo, lots of them new and rebuilt because of Turbo Talon's and Eclipses. even a 2.0 Ford Probe Turbo would work good.

That four is a real dog. You can go to roller rockers and a header. Also Sport Truck Specialties makes some speed parts for the 2.2. Lowering these trucks is real simple. My only complaints are the fuel economy on the hiway. I recently went to Atlanta (295 miles one way) and I used a tank of gas to get there. I think I should be able to go a little farther than that on 13 gallons of gas.

Here is my wifes truck. Lowered 4 inches front and back. The wheels are American Racing Salt Flats, 17x7 front and 17x9.5 rear. I bought it with the Caddy taillight already done.

That four is a dog, all right. The 2.5 is better, or a 2.8 V6.
