What gauge aluminum is recomended, location of baffles (Drag racing), position of fuel sending unit, location of inlet and outlet (size also),etc. If you guys have any good links also. This will be in a truck with a carb.

..... Hi Big Truck Driver, when I worked in a small welding shop we had a larger shop with a bender bend the material so that we didn't have as many welded joints. I guess what I'm saying is that if you don't have a bender you might want to concider 'farming' this out. I remember doing quit a few diesel tanks for the back of pick up trucks & they looked a lot better & more professional with fewer welds...... I'm in the process of looking for my NHRA rule book but so far can't find it. I'll post any fuel tank specs if I find it.... bill

I would appreciate that.I also do have a bender.I do have a steel tank that I like ,did not ever find out where it came from, but it fits perfect. It is old ,and from a ford though.I will copy this one ,but make it out of aluminum. I am still undecided about the welding proces ,tig or mig.

Thanks guys! It's been a long road. Fun doing finishing work for sure. Getting the dash ready for paint and some interior trim. Have to do some finish work on the aluminum headliner before...
