    What gauge aluminum is recomended,location of baffles (Drag racing), position of fuel sending unit,location of inlet and outlet (size also),etc.If you guys have any good links also.This will be in a truck with a carb.

    ..... Hi Big Truck Driver, when I worked in a small welding shop we had a larger shop with a bender bend the material so that we didn't have as many welded joints. I guess what I'm saying is that if you don't have a bender you might want to concider 'farming' this out. I remember doing quit a few diesel tanks for the back of pick up trucks & they looked a lot better & more professional with fewer welds...... I'm in the process of looking for my NHRA rule book but so far can't find it. I'll post any fuel tank specs if I find it.... bill

    I would appreciate that.I also do have a bender.I do have a steel tank that I like ,did not ever find out where it came from,but it fits perfect.It is old ,and from a ford though.I will copy this one ,but make it out of aluminum. I am still undecided about the welding proces ,tig or mig.
