On my way to school this morning, pulling out on the Hwy when a truck passing a another vehicle broadsided me, going about 60. Luckily no one was seriously hurt. It hurts pretty bad to see something that you've been working on for years totaled in a matter of seconds.

that really sucks. I hope very much that it wasn't your fault and maybe you could get some insurance and maybe get started to rebuild her :( I know there's no substitute for the original, but maybe you could salvage everything that isn't hurt and use it again. 90% of original and 10% new is a lot better than 0% anything. Sorry to hear about your loss.
Man that sucks, at least you werent hurt, and i agree a new cab, and door and your cruizin again, maybe youll have enough cash left to buy some new goodies
The insurance should cover everything and I guess the only thing to look forward to, is a new paint job.

Good for your insurance in coming thru. That's tha last thing anyone needs adding insult to injury ( all your prior work will aid you in any rebuild , fustration is all the lost of time )

Unless the cab is torqued or bent diagonally, it looks to be a not-too-bad repair job.
A new door, sill plate & rocker, cab lower corner and bed repair or replacement if the cost isn't too high would do it from what I can see.
You should be able to find what you need in your area.
I visited my daughter at Mtn Home AFB a few years back and was surprised at how many pickups are in wrecking yards there.
Fairly complete in many cases.
Not so true in SoCal where a pickup is just about gone in one week....
I can relate to how you feel. My hotrod '30 Ford got hit at the Richmond Nationals back in August. The idiot made a left turn in front on me and wiped out the frontend. Luckily I had uninsured coverage because he had a suspended license and no insurance. Just parts alone to repair are estimated at $5K.

I can't imagine what this must feel like. Even if no one is injured, it has to make you sick. I don't even know any of you and it makes me ill looking at this. :( :(

dude im serously sorry, i drive my galaxie to school everyday, and that is my greatest fear, if only people would pay attention more. i get people who pull out in front of me all the time, its like if they see and old car they get this misconception that its going slow so they can just whip out if front of you people are stupid i get people tailgating me all the time. i can be doing 65 in a 55 and people still ride my a$$. if people would drive less like morons and slow down a little they would still get where they are going in the same amount of time it just really drives me nuts how people will cut you off only to get stuck behind the car that you were stuck behind. i dotn even want to get started on moron drivers it pisses me off to no end

That was my reaction after I got out to make sure that the tank wasn't leaking.
Glad no one was hurt - I've had a couple of fender benders in my driving history, luckily never with my street rod ride - I was told that it's 'only' a car not a life and if it can't be fixed, there is another one just waiting to be built.
Good luck with your fix up - it looks repairable with a few parts and a LOT of time.:CRY:

Dam I'm sorry to see that. It looks like it was a beautiful truck. Hope you can put it back together.
