trouble brewing??
Ive noticed foaming in my radiator and am wondering if changing the cap
from a 15# to a 7# will let the pressure bleed off easier.
rad is new and car runs mostly cool (165-175)
But there seem to be alot of pressure in the rad and it shouldnt be puking coolant at such low temps.
Im thinking the head gasket is starting to go.
If thats the case do any of those pour in sealers actually work
or is it time for a teardown??

Tear down. Reason ?
Only the top-end, if needed.

If you would do a leakdown test prior to the teardown, it will tell you which cylinder is leaking compression and making spotting the problem easier when you take it apart.
-
They make a wierd dye for testing too.

Thanks 4 all the advise.....I was hoping 4 a quick fix but have decided just to pull the heads & change the gaskets.

Better hope thats it!!!!!!Other wise you will be upset when you get it back together and nothing has changed:LOL: The tests are so you can fix the problem the first time, with out dye, pressure tests, leak down ...yada yada, you are only guessing at the problem.Lets see here gaskett, ,cracked bore ,cracked head,,you got 33 1/3 percent chance of being right:confused:

Im figuring the MOST likely culprit is the head gaskets...The car sat a long time & Im sure w 12:1s the cyl psi was too much...
If the block/head is cracked Im only out $50 for gaskets + time which is what dye would have cost AND I dont have an air compressor/leakdown guage either although Im gonna do a compression test prior to removal.
thanks again,
