Guys:
Are electric water pumps meant for the strip, or can they be used for street as well. I'm interested in some info about a 350 with one ?

Some are street capable but most are strip only. Here is one that will work on the street:

Meziere lists the pump as having 2000-3000 hours of life. This is 3 years of 2 hours per day use. These things are not cheap. IT is cool on some cars to not have the belt drive to the water pump.
Before you buy call the manufacturer....not the person selling it. Ask if the thing is useable on the street and ask the life rating....

On Sunday afternoon when the water pump breaks, it's not fun to have to wait 4 or 5 days to get some mailorder place to send you a new one... I would imagine 99.9% of the parts stores carry a sbc water pump. Fast ain't fun when it breaks......and nobody in town has the parts.
i have seen electric used on the street BUT when they stop you do . i have made it home with a bad belt driven water pump . if you do it i would run it so you have a back up on the wiring so if the relay dies or a switch you can make it home
Thanks guys.
How about this one from Summit?

Just have a spear puller and a longer belt with you and you will be able to drive on if the electric motor fails.
